HOUSTON ATTORNEY

McDowell Hetherington LLP is seeking candidates for an experienced attorney position in its Houston office. Interested applicants should send a cover letter, resume, writing sample, and references to recruiting@mhllp.com. Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • A current license to practice law in Texas (or willingness to take the Texas Bar);
  • An ability to run his or her own litigation matters with minimal supervision;
  • A desire to have contact with clients and build his or her own practice;
  • Outstanding legal research, writing, and advocacy skills; and
  • Excellent academic credentials.

The strongest candidates will have also had a judicial clerkship, mock trial or moot court experience, or a law license in addition to Texas. Compensation is competitive but dependent upon each candidate’s experience and background. MH’s Houston office focuses on complex business litigation in the energy, financial services, and first-party insurance sectors.

SOUTH FLORIDA ATTORNEY

McDowell Hetherington LLP is seeking candidates for an associate attorney position in its South Florida office. This position will primarily involve work on property and casualty insurance disputes.   • A current license to practice law in Florida;
  • 0 to 6 years of experience;
  • An ability to run his or her own commercial litigation matters with minimal supervision;
  • A desire to have contact with clients and build his or her own practice; and
  • Outstanding legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.

The strongest candidates will have prior experience handling property and casualty insurance disputes or managing high volume litigation dockets. Candidates who are fluent in Spanish are also highly desired. Compensation is competitive but dependent upon each candidate’s experience and background. MH’s South Florida office focuses on complex business litigation in the first-party insurance and financial services sectors.
